Medications for Bed Wetting
A doctor or paediatrician has several medications that they may prescribe for bed wetting. The names of these may vary depending on which country you live in. The type of medication will vary on the age of the person and the condition or illness that is the cause of bed wetting. An elderly person suffering from enuresis is different to a child trying to overcome enuresis.
Medications for child bed wetting are generally used only in the short term for younger children. In some cases they are given as a course of treatment in the hope that when a child finishes the course their problem will have resolved. At other times they are made available to a parent who needs their child to travel or sleepover somewhere without suffering the potential embarrassment of a bed wetting accident in this period.
All medications have a risk of side effects for adult or child, so for a problem that may resolve by itself, doctors will normally recommend that a parent try other forms of treatment first, before resorting to using medications for bed wetting.
