Bedwetting Stain Solutions

Or When Bleach Isn’t Enough!

For soiled nappies and stains on bedding,  generally overnight soaking in a nappy bleach is sufficient to remove most stubborn stains. The usual process of bedwetting stain solutions is to soak in a bucket of bleach solution, drain and wash normally with detergent, rinse with a softener and hang on a line to dry.

The result is often stiff scratchy still stained cloth nappies, clothing and sheets and bedding.

A grandmother to one of my son’s friends gave me this tip about bedwetting stain solutions one day when I was talking about stains and stiffness.

Add Borax to the Stain Solution.

When you make up the bedwetting stain solutions for soaking, use nappy bleach, borax and dissolve it in hot water. The result was astounding!

Even “dried on the line”,  the nappies were almost as soft as new towels; absorbent,  not stiff and white as snow. When I did get a dryer, I found that cloth diapers tumbled in a drier are even softer still, especially if you use a cling free dryer softening sheet in the load.

Cling free dryer sheets have a number of uses as well as perfuming and softening and removing static from clothing in dryers. For example they make great dusters especially for tv screens where static seems to retain dust more and they will keep clothing smelling fresh in drawers for longer as well.

Enzyme Bedwetting Stain Solutions

If bleach alone doesn’t work for some stains, there are other bedwetting stain solutions. Its time to look for an enzyme soak of some sort. Just check the products in the supermarket for one saying it uses enzymes for its action. These products work in a different way and seem to succeed as bedwetting stain solutions on stains that bleach cannot remove.

Adding white vinegar to your laundry wash cycle as bedwetting stain solutions, can suck odors and smells right out and leave your clothes fresher than ever before. It also cuts back on static cling without requiring fabric softener or dryer sheets.

If you prefer natural bedwetting stain solutions with less risk to sensitive skins, some of these options may not meet with your approval. There are tips on completely natural bedwetting stain solutions for laundering here.
