Cleaning Bedwetting

Cleaning bedwetting is an issue for stain free and odor free night clothing, sheets and bedding and the mattress, and it can be a real chore.

As with health - prevention is better than cure! So the use of bedwetting pads, bedwetting mats, rubber sheets and such for bedwetting mattress protection is wise.

But when you are in the thick of the bedwetting training, there comes a time when you have to trust that your child will succeed and stay dry. So the diapers or pants have to come off. Even so accidents will still happen.

Sheets get wet, or leakages occur between layers, odors linger and messy stains appear. For pants and nappies and thin sheets,  soaking in a normal nappy solution is usually successful, but if not,  or when your bedding is too thick to squeeze in a bucket there’s a few tips for cleaning bedwetting on these pages.

Effectively managing laundry to minimize the workload and for efficient cleaning bedwetting requires a variety of special skills.

Buy acrylic fabric or part acrylic sheets that will dry quickly. For cleaning bedwetting, cotton takes too long to dry when you may need to wash each day. Same for nightclothes such as the pyjamas or nighties that bedwetters wear.

If you can afford a tumble dryer use one. If not wash first thing each morning and hang up straight away or you’ll run out of bedding and clothes. If hanging space is limited read the next article. If you are on a budget, look at frugal shopping for tips on saving money.
